1. Write engaging subject lines

3. The body length should be adjusted to the needs of your audience.

However the most recent study conducted from Prospect.io found that emails for sales that contained around 300 words had higher response rates than emails that had less than 100 characters.

5. Include a clear call-to-action and the next steps

"You should always finish the email with a query or statement that's not an affirmative or negative response. Do not ask 'Does this make sense for you Do you think it's better to make it an open-ended query such as 'how do you feel about what I've just mentioned or how do think about meeting us on Monday?' then add your invitation on your calendar," explained Gupta. "Focus on a call to action that encourages the prospect to respond or do something actionable."

6. Send an email at the appropriate date and time

Timing is key when it comes to selling emails, says Gupta.

"Look for key moments like when the company gets funding, if it acquired another company, if there are leadership changes, if it launched a new product, or if the person you're emailing got promoted," Gupta said. Gupta.
